Lemosho Route 7 Days Kilimanjaro Climb

The Lemosho  route 7 days is one of the best acclimatization routes. The route is less used and a beautiful way up to the Shira Plateau. The minimum duration of the Lemosho route is 6 days, but we strongly recommend that you complete the route in 7 days. The extra 7 days gives your body more time to acclimatize, reducing the effects of altitude sickness, and gives you more time to rest before attempting the summit.

If you have chosen the optional airport transfer, we will pick you up from Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha Airport and transfer you to Panama hotel in Moshi or similar hotel. Pre-trek briefing at the Moshi hotel. You should plan to arrive at least one day before the tour starts. We will spend today with a pre-excursion briefing. We review your equipment and rent the necessary equipment.

After breakfast and briefing, departure to Londorossi Park Gate (approx. 3 hours by car). From there, a forest track requiring a 4WD vehicle leads to the Lemosho Glades. Walk along forest trails to the Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) campsite.

Very early in the morning (midnight to 6 am) we continue our journey to the summit between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers. If we start in a northwesterly direction and climb towards Stella Point on the rim of the crater through a strong rock. This is the most mentally and physically challenging part of the tour. You will stop at Stella Point for a short rest and be rewarded with the most amazing sunrise you are likely to ever see. Faster hikers can watch the sunrise from the summit.

From Stella Point, you can encounter snow all the way up during the 1-hour climb to the summit. Uhuru summited Mount Kilimanjaro and the highest point on the continent of Africa!

From the summit we start our descent by going straight to Mweka camp and stopping at Barafu for lunch. You may want to use shin guards and hiking poles for the loose gravel. We arrive at Mweka camp and enjoy our last evening on the mountain.
